The Gaze Within — Hyperrealistic Eye Study by Good Ereseh

The Gaze Within

A hyperrealistic study of vision, reflection and the quiet intensity held within a single eye.

The Gaze Within is an original hyperrealistic drawing created in charcoal and graphite pencil. The composition moves beyond a simple study of anatomy: the eye becomes a surface for light, reflected surroundings and human presence, drawing the viewer into the moment captured within the iris.

The eyelashes, eyelid, iris and surrounding skin were built by hand through layers of graphite and charcoal, balancing sharp detail with softer tonal transitions. The contrast between the dark lashes and the reflected light gives the work its sense of depth and immediacy.

Completed over 10 hours on 100% cotton paper, the drawing measures 11.9 inches high by 15.5 inches wide. The artwork fills the full paper size, making the entire sheet part of the finished composition.
